For weeks WWE has been promoting the return of Eva Marie, and she finally appeared on Raw this week alongside Piper Niven who was working in an enforcer type role.
Originally Eva Marie was set to face Naomi, but Piper Niven wrestled in her place, and squashed Naomi while Eva Marie announced herself as the winner. Piper Niven was not named during the show, and the announcers acted as if they didn’t know who she was.
Fightful Select is reporting that “Doudrop” is one of the names that was pitched for Niven, but it’s not clear if that’s what WWE will be going with. Either way the idea going forward is that Eva Marie’s new muscle is a new talent, and not someone who was called up from NXT UK.
Eva Marie also posted a photo of herself alongside Piper Niven with the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles photoshopped into the pic, and she teased that a title run is part of their future plans.
