kurt angle

Kurt Angle parted ways with WWE in 2006, but he recently made his return at the 2017 Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Angle later appeared on Raw a few days later and Vince McMahon announced that the Olympic gold medalist would be new General Manager of the show.

It seems that Kurt Angle is having a great time with his current WWE run so far, and he recently spoke to Addiction Professional about his return and more. During the interview Angle talked about the WWE wellness policy, and he praised the company for making positive changes.

“WWE has a great wellness policy now. You have to pass physicals through WWE doctors, not your own,” Angle says. “But back then, I was convincing my doctor to get me back as soon as possible. As long as you were cleared by a doctor in 2003, WWE was OK with it. Now, they have their own doctors you have to go through. I rushed back in there long before I should have. That was my own fault, talking my doctor into clearing me.”

Angle hasn’t been shy when it comes to opening up about his problems with addiction, and he also noted that WWE paid for him to go to rehab a few years ago while he was still working for Impact Wrestling.

He’s now clean, but Kurt says before he parted ways with WWE, he was starting to feel like a liability to the company.

“I thought I was a liability to that company, and I think he felt that way,” Angle says of McMahon. “He was trying to help me, and I didn’t want his help.”

The future seems to be wide open for Kurt Angle, as it’s rumored that WWE officials are interested in having Kurt work a match if he can pass the physical. It’s great to see Kurt healthy, and it will be interesting to see who he faces if he does indeed wrestle inside a WWE ring once again.
