It’s been a wild adventure in the story of Jim Cornette and Vince Russo. The two worked together briefly and that time together has caused a hatred that’s lasted for decades.
The resentment was there and known about but it recently resurfaced publically on an episode of “Table For 3” on the WWE Network. Jim Cornette and Eric Bischoff had some words to say about Russo and it resulted in a back and forth between Jim and Russo.
Jim Cornette eventually got on his podcast and challenged Vince Russo to a legit fight. In turn Vince Russo had a unique apology to Cornette where he called Corny’s threat a schtick. On the next Jim Cornette Experience Jim declared Russo as the winner and he said he’s got a gift for him. He doesn’t know when he’ll give it to him, but it was a good gift.
Apparently Vince Russo changed his mind about the legitimacy of Jim Cornette’s threats because two police officers showed up at Corny’s house yesterday and issued him an order of protection from Vince Russo.
In the order Russo says Cornette has been stalking him for the past eighteen years across five states. As Cornette looked at the nine pages of documentation from an actual court he realized how serious this situation is.
Cornette promises to stay away from Russo’s house that he’s never been to and his wife who he hasn’t seen since 1997. Jim also promises not to call Russo on his phone number that Jim says he didn’t have until last week.
In the end Jim Cornette apologized to Vince Russo for causing fear of bodily harm to him which is what Russo claimed Corney caused him in the court documents. Jim said fans emailed him tons of information about Vince Russo and how to track him down during the weeks of their public feud but he never did anything about it.
But now it’s illegal for Jim Cornette and Vince Russo communicate with each other. So if you were holding hope for a Cornette and Russo podcast you can probably table that excitement for now.
