The Miz didn’t defend the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam this year, and it’s no big secret that he was less than happy with the fact that Kurt Angle didn’t book him in a title match. The Intercontinental Champion kicked off this week’s episode of Raw as he stood inside the ring with the Miztourage, but as he attempted to cut a promo he was quickly interrupted by Raw General Manager Kurt Angle.

Kurt Angle and The Miz went back and forth, and Angle told him that he knows he’s upset about the fact that there was no Intercontinental Championship match on this year’s SummerSlam pay-per-view. Angle then announced that next week on Raw The Miz will be defending the title. He then announced that Miz’s challenger would be decided right away via a 15 man battle royal, and he revealed that the Miztourage would compete as Big Show, The Hardys and Finn Balor made their way to the ring before the show went to commercial.

The rest of the competitors made their way to the ring as Miz and Maryse watched from ringside.

Finn Balor seemed to be on a roll when it came down to Jeff Hardy, Jason Jordan, The Miztourage, Elias and Balor, but then the lights went out and out of nowhere Bray Wyatt appeared and eliminated Balor before the lights went out again and he disappeared.

Jason Jordan then eliminated The Miztourage, then Elias was eliminated and Jeff Hardy eliminated Jason Jordan to win the battle royal.

Jeff Hardy will battle The Miz for the IC Title next week on Raw.
