Janel Grant vs. Vince McMahon Lawsuit Effectively Closed

For decades Vince McMahon was the most powerful man in WWE, and arguably all of wrestling. Back in 2024, Vince had to step away from the company completely after the Janel Grant lawsuit was filed. Recently a major development took place in the legal battle as all parties agreed to move to private arbitration, and Grant’s lawyer signed off on a filing to dismiss the federal lawsuit.

Brandon Thurston is reporting that the Janel Grant vs. WWE & Vince McMahon case is effectively closed as Judge Sarah F. Russell ordered the pending motions moot. It was also noted that the court does not need to approve the dismissal itself because all parties signed the notice last Friday.

While the legal battle is no longer a public federal lawsuit, this does not mean that Janel Grant has withdrawn her allegations against McMahon as the legal situation will continue to unfold behind closed doors now that all parties have agreed to private arbitration. Originally Janel Grant’s legal team opposed arbitration as they argued that a 2022 non disclosure agreement should not be enforced.

With the legal battle now moving to private arbitration there’s been a lot of speculation regarding what the future holds for Vince McMahon, and you can get more details on that here.
