Throughout the year a number of WWE stars have been sidelined due to injury, and now it seems that another top name will be out of action for the foreseeable future.
Back in April, Rhea Ripley won the WWE Women’s Championship when she defeated Jade Cargill at WrestleMania 42. However, Ripley has not wrestled since June as she’s currently dealing with a torn meniscus.
Today Rhea Ripley confirmed that she recently underwent surgery for her injury when she posted the following:
“Life update.
After just under 14 year in wrestling and doing sports my entire life… It’s caught up to me. Surgery was never a first option for me, but it got to the point that it was needed…

I’ve survived, now it’s time to start thriving again so I can get back to what I love to do!

A few weeks ago WWE confirmed that Rhea Ripley would not be stripped of her WWE Women’s Championship during her time away from the ring. Instead a five way ladder match to crown an interim WWE Women’s Champion was announced for SummerSlam, and Chelsea Green won the match on Sunday.
