During Raw this week Je’Von Evans, Dragon Lee, Chad Gable, Dominik Mysterio, Rusev, Ethan Page and Joe Hendry all competed in a gauntlet match to determine who would become the number one contender for Penta’s Intercontinental Championship.
Joe Hendry and Dominik Mysterio kicked things off and Joe was the first to be eliminated. Je’Von Evans then entered next. At one point during the match it seemed that Dominik Mysterio was about to beat Je’Von Evans, but Danhausen drove out in the Danhausen mobile and tried to curse Dom. Mysterio sent JD after Danhausen, and Je’Von beat Dom with the OG Cutter while Dom was distracted.
After Dominik was eliminated Dragon Lee stepped up to face Je’Von Evans. After a few minutes Je’Von rolled Dragon Lee up to eliminate him from the match. Rusev entered next and he attacked Je’Von from behind. Evans fought hard, but eventually he passed out after Rusev locked in the Accolade for the third time.
Chad Gable entered the match next. Gable managed to roll Rusev up to eliminate him, but Rusev locked in the Accolade to weaken Gable as Ethan Page made his entrance. After a few minutes Chad Gable made Ethan Page tap out to the ankle lock.
Gable will now go on to challenge Penta for the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam. After the match Penta came out to shake Cad Gable’s hand.
