Bryan Danielson knows a thing or two about main eventing WrestleMania as he main evented for the first time when he faced off against Batista and Randy Orton in a triple threat match that saw Bryan win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 30. Danielson then went on to main event once again at WrestleMania 37 in another triple threat which saw Roman Reigns retain his Universal Championship.

This year Cody is walking into WrestleMania once again and he’s set to main event both nights. Cody failed to capture the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship last year, but he’ll be getting another shot at the title when he challenges Roman Reigns for the belt in the main event of night two.

Bryan Danielson recently spoke to Sports Illustrated about Cody’s rise to the top of WWE, and he admitted that he was mad when Cody was defeated by The Tribal Chief last year.

“I am really proud of Cody. What he’s doing is really special. I texted Cody last year, just saying I was so proud of him and congratulations. Then the finish happened, and I was so mad.”

Currently Bryan Danielson is part of the AEW roster and he noted that wrestlers from other companies are still supporting one another despite tribalism within the wrestling community.

“This is the beauty of professional wrestling. There may be animosity and tribalism amongst fans or people who run companies. But the wrestlers? We want what’s best for each other. From a wrestler’s perspective, I want my friends to do well. And they want me to do well, too.

“I want what’s best for Cody. It’s no different with him. Cody texted me after my hour-long match against Max [MJF] and told me how much he loved it.
