The 2017 Royal Rumble has come and gone, and the event set up the Road to WrestleMania in a big way. But before the stars of SmackDown and Raw get to WrestleMania 33, they still have to get through the upcoming Elimination Chamber and Fastlane pay-per-views.
Sunday night Kevin Owens successfully defended his Universal Title against Roman Reigns, but it sounds like Kevin’s time with the belt may soon be coming to an end.
Goldberg is being advertised for the WWE Fastlane pay-per-view and Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that current plans call for Goldberg to challenge Kevin Owens at the event and win the WWE Universal Title. Following the victory at Fastlane, Goldberg will then reportedly carry the belt into WrestleMania 33 where he will defend it against Brock Lesnar.
During the Universal Title match at the Royal Rumble, Braun Strowman interfered and destroyed Roman Reigns which allowed Kevin Owens to pick up the victory. Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman are being advertised to face each other at upcoming WWE live events and Kevin Owens is being advertised for matches with Sami Zayn.
During the Royal Rumble match Roman Reigns entered at number 30, and he managed to eliminate The Undertaker. Although Reigns will be working with Strowman at upcoming live events, current plans still call for Reigns to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando.
