With the Elimination Chamber event scheduled for February 12th, this doesn’t give the Smackdown crew much time to prepare audiences or build to the event. Most of the time the pay-per-views between Royal Rumble and WrestleMania are essentially throw-away shows, but this year rumors are the WWE has plans to make some big moves during these interim events.

As we have previously reported, Goldberg very well might be slated to capture the Universal Title at Fastlane, and the Elimination Chamber might have a big title switch as well.

CageSideSeats is reporting that there is a rumor going around that fans will know all six competitors of the Elimination Chamber match by the end of tonight’s show. There isn’t word on whether or not there will be qualifying matches, or if Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon will just choose the wrestlers involved, but they need to hit the ground running to give ample time to build anticipation for the event.

We already know two of the competitors in the chamber match will be John Cena and AJ Styles.

The word going around is that WWE didn’t really make that big of a deal about John Cena tying Ric Flair’s world title record at the Royal Rumble because he is scheduled to drop the belt rather quickly in the Chamber.

It was recently reported that Bray is probably the most likely candidate to hold the blue brand’s big belt going into Mania, and seeing that Orton has locked in his title shot, Wyatt winning in Phoenix seems even more likely at this point.
