CM Punk hasn’t appeared on a wrestling program in months, but that doesn’t mean the wrestling world hasn’t been talking about him. On Monday night it was reported that CM Punk was backstage at Raw ahead of the show and that he also crossed paths with some notable names such as The Miz and Triple H. Punk’s visit was apparently brief as Vince McMahon made the call for him to leave and he reportedly did so without incident.

Mark Henry addressed CM Punk’s visit to Raw on Busted Open Radio and noted that there’s never been problems in AEW when it comes to friends and partners visiting people at events. The WWE Hall of Famer went on to say that Punk’s visit was only big news because Punk is so polarizing.

“Why Punk? Because he’s polarizing. Because it will make big news. Punk has friends at WWE that’s like brothers to him.”

Henry also gave an example of Vince McMahon calling him to come to the arena for a visit when he was in Austin, TX and he continued, “No problems, no stress. It happens all the time. Now was he wanted there? Obviously not.”

CM Punk’s AEW return has not been confirmed just yet, but it’s been reported that he’s expected to be back with the company soon as to be the star of AEW’s rumored Saturday show. AEW has not officially revealed the Saturday show, but Tony Khan is set to make an announcement on Dynamite this week, so it’s possible that’s what he could be announcing. Stay tuned for updates.
