This week’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown aired live from Mexico and the show featured several title matches. Rey Fenix successfully defended his AAA Cruiserweight Championship against Ricky Saints in the first title match of the night, and Chelsea Green went on to successfuly defend her interim WWE Women’s Championship against Nia Jax.
Following the interim WWE Women’s Championship match, Damian Priest & R-Truth made their way out to the ring to challenge The War Raiders for the AAA Tag Team Championship.
Damian Priest dominated the match early on, but The War Raiders wore him down and isolated Priest in their corner. R-Truth finally got the hot tag and he hit the Five Knuckle Shuffle on Erik then followed up with the Attitude Adjustment on Ivar. Erik prevented Truth from pinning Ivar and Damian Priest got in the ring to back up Truth, but got hit with a double team move from The War Raiders.
The War Raiders then put Truth up for Ragnarok then pinned him to retain the AAA Tag Team Championship. Damian Priest looked disappointed as he got in the ring. He extended his hand and helped R-Truth up as Truth apologized. Truth’s music hit and Priest handed him a sombrero. Truth put it on and Priest clotheslined him as the fans booed.
Priest picked Truth back up then hit him with the South of Heaven chokeslam as the fans continued to boo him.
