It’s always unfortunate when a professional wrestler is sidelined due to injury, and another member of the SmackDown roster is now out of action. Ahead of last week’s episode of SmackDown, Matt Cardona faced off against Kit Wilson during the Main Event tapings, and Cardona confirmed he tore his triceps during the match when he posted the following:
“I wish my arm was this jacked. Unfortunately, it’s just swollen because I tore my tricep in a match on Friday night. (I still went to the gym today and did legs) I’ll keep you updated. I’M NOT FINISHED.”
Now it looks like Cardona is on the road to recovery as he posted a photo of himself in a hospital bed in his Instagram story which seems to indicate that the former Intercontinental Champion underwent surgery to repair the torn triceps.
At this point in time it’s not clear how long Matt Cardona could be out of action. The recovery time for a torn triceps varies as it could take 8 to 12 weeks for a partial tear without surgery, and a full tear can take as long as 6 months to a full year of recovery if surgery is required.
Stay tuned for updates.
