Big Cass made his big return to WWE back in August and since then he’s been trying to establish himself as a dominant heel. In the months leading up to the return of Big Cass it was rumored that WWE was also interested in Enzo Amore, but when Cass returned Enzo was nowhere to be seen.
During a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that he had heard Enzo’s return was pretty much a done deal, but the idea was WWE would keep Enzo Amore and Big Cass apart because they thought putting Cass with Enzo would limit his upside.
“There was talk of Enzo in NXT. It was talked to me like it was pretty much a done deal, but they were gonna keep Enzo and Cass apart because of the idea that if they put them together, Cass’ upside is very limited in that tag team based on how WWE does tag teams.
But now, with Cass in the spot that he’s in, being with Enzo may not be the worst thing in a tag team. So I suppose they could do that. Seems kind of weird. What does Cass need Enzo for when he’s beating these guys up all by himself anyway?”
At this point it’s not clear if WWE has plans to bring Enzo Amore back to the company in the future, but it will be interesting to see if the company moves Big Cass to the tag team division in the coming months.
