Drew McIntyre has been one of the top stars in WWE for years now, but it’s been months since fans have seen him on TV. PWInsider is reporting that Drew McIntyre has returned to the United States after finishing up filming for Highlander starring Henry Cavill, and The Last Druid starring Russell Crowe. However, it’s being said that at this point in time there is no active conversation regarding Drew McIntyre returning to WWE storylines.
While plans for his return to TV are not currently solidified, Drew has been working on other projects for WWE such as the live-action microdramas with ReelShort which were announced back in July and are also expected to feature Joe Hendry and Jacob Fatu.
Drew McIntyre has had an interesting year to say the least as he defeated Cody Rhodes back in January to win the Undisputed WWE Championship, but dropped the belt back to Cody in March. The Scottish Warrior has not appeared on WWE programming since he was defeated by Jacob Fatu at WrestleMania 42 in April.
Despite his absence from WWE programming, Drew has still be active on social media in recent months sharing updates while filming the aforementioned movies he’s been working on.
