The WWE Night of Champions premium live event emanated from Saudi Arabia on Saturday and the show kicked off in a big way. For weeks now the King of the Ring tournament has been playing out on WWE programming, and Oba Femi finally clashed with Jey Uso in the finals.
Jey Uso made his entrance first to a big ovation from the crowd who asked him to run it back. The crowd was also very much into Oba Femi’s entrance as he made his way to the ring.
When the match kicked off Jey hit Oba with several strikes, but it had no impact on The Ruler. Jey rolled to the outside and Oba put him on his shoulders. Jey managed to slide out of it then push Oba face first into the ring post. Uso went back into the ring and hit two dives on Oba outside the ring. He went for a third and Oba caught him with an uppercut.
Oba Femi completely dominated the match for a few minutes. He went for a chokeslam, but Jey got out of it. Femi then tried for Fall From Grace and Jey slipped out of that too. Jey connected with an Uso Splash and Oba kicked out at one then hit Jey with the chokeslam for a two count.
Jey caught Oba with three superkicks and two spears then went to the top for another Uso Splash. He managed to connect with the splash, but was too exhausted to pin Oba. Jey went to the top and connected with another Uso Splash. Oba kicked out at two.
As Oba was catching his breath Jey locked in a sleeper hold on The Ruler. Femi got out of it and hit Usa with two running uppercuts then tossed him across the ring.
Oba Femi connected with the Fall From Grace then pinned Jey Uso to become the King of the Ring. After the match Nick Aldis handed the crown to Oba Femi and Byron Saxton interviewed the new King of the Ring.
