A few weeks ago the Original El Grande Americano faced off against El Grande Americano in a mask vs. mask match in AAA. Ultimately Original El Grande Americano lost the match and revealed himself to be Chad Gable after he unmasked.
Following his unmasking Chad Gable has since returned to the WWE main roster, and he’s been trying to redeem himself by apologizing to the people he’s hurt. During this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, Chad Gable made his way out to the ring as his new entrance music played, and he encouraged the fans to clap along to the song.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select is reporting that the clapping WWE added to Chad Gable’s entrance is likely tied to a larger creative concept involving Minnesota.
The Minnesota Vikings play at US Bank Stadium, which is the location of this year’s SummerSlam premium live event, and the fanbase has a chant which involves them shouting “Skol” while clapping their hands together. Chad Gable is from the Minneapolis area.
It was recently reported that there are people in WWE who are pushing for Chad Gable to have a prominent presence at the SummerSlam premium live event this year, so it will be interesting to see how he’s used.
Stay tuned for updates.
