Roman Reigns has been one of the top stars in WWE for years now, but it’s no big secret that The Tribal Chief is closer to the end of his career than he his the beginning. The former Undisputed WWE Champion has been moving into the acting world and it was recently reported that he was in talks to join the cast of the upcoming Street Fighter movie.
The Hollywood Reporter is now reporting that Roman Reigns (Joe Anoa’i) is set to play Akuma. Other notable cast members include Jason Momoa as Blanka, Noah Centineo as Ryu and Callina Liang as Chun-Li.
Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has also joined the cast as disgraced boxer Balrog who is the bodyguard for the villain. According to sources he is deep into training for the role and is set to do his own stunts in the film.
Kitao Sakurai is attached to the film as the director with Legendary co-developing and co-producing alongside Capcom. As of right now plot details for the movie are being kept under wraps, but production is expected to begin in Australia in August.
It was recently reported that Roman Reigns is currently planned to return to WWE ahead of the SummerSlam premium live event as he’s set to be a main part of the show. Reigns last appeared on WWE programming during the closing segment of the Raw after WrestleMania 41 back in April.
