At AEW All Out back in September The Elite became the first ever AEW World Trios Champions, but the belts were vacated only a few days later due to The Elite getting into a physical altercation with CM Punk and Ace Steel after the show.
Death Triangle went on to become the new AEW World Trios Champions after The Elite were stripped of the belts, and Death Triangle have been holding the belts ever since. For weeks now AEW has been teasing the return of The Elite which finally happened when Full Gear aired live on Saturday night.
When it came time for The Elite to appear on screen they made their entrance to “Carry On My Wayward Son” by Kansas to a big reaction from the crowd and Don Callis accompanied them to the ring. The fans chanted “welcome back” and “be elite” as Kenny Omega and PAC kicked off the match. The fans then loudly chanted “f**k CM Punk!”
At one point the referee was distracted and PAC threw a hammer to Rey Fenix, but Fenix threw it back to PAC then got hit with the V-Trigger from Kenny Omega.
Omega hit the V-Trigger again and PAC handed Fenix the hammer while he was laying on the ropes. Omega picked Fenix up for the One Winged Angel, but Fenix hit Omega in the head with the hammer then rolled him up to retain the titles.
