We’re only hours away from the annual Royal Rumble pay-per-view and anticipation is at an all time high. Even though the show is quickly approaching it sounds like some plans for the event are still coming together.
PWInsider reports that Vince McMahon has taken an extremely tight look at the Royal Rumble, and McMahon has reportedly changed lots of different aspects about the Royal Rumble matches. It was noted that who would come out first, and who would be involved with the end of the Royal Rumble matches are at least two of the things he changed.
Plans for last year’s Royal Rumble matches were apparently locked in pretty easily, but planning for this year’s matches has been a longer more complicated process as Vince McMahon picks the direction he wants.
Over the last few days there’s been a lot of talk about having talents who are in other matches on the card enter the men’s Royal Rumble match, but those plans haven’t been confirmed as creative is going back and forth. One idea that was pitched over the last week involves Brock Lesnar somehow entering the men’s Royal Rumble match.
There is also said to be an idea for Randy Orton to go far in the match because the show is in his hometown of St. Louis. Another pitch was made for Randy Orton and Riddle to go far together and tease what could happen if they end up against one another.
Right now everything depends on what Vince McMahon wants, but Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar is said to be set in stone for WrestleMania 38.
Plans for the women’s Royal Rumble are still being worked out as there was another run through of the match earlier today in addition to the one that was done last night. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
