It is absolutely heartbreaking that Naomi was forced to wait seven years for her first taste of championship gold in WWE and when she finally had it in her grasp, it was taken away from her by nothing but cruel fate.
Naomi could have walked into her hometown as Women’s Champion at WrestleMania this year, but any hope of that homecoming was ended this week when she was forced to relinquish the title due to injury.
The former SmackDown Women’s Champion appeared on Lilian Garcia’s Making Their Way To The Ring podcast this week where she talked about how she nagged WWE for two years about doing a “Feel The Glow” gimmick and for the most part they didn’t listen.
She also said that when WWE removed her from “Total Divas” twice she was never given a straight answer as to why she was removed. WWE stated that it was because there was nothing left for Jimmy Uso and Naomi to do on the show so they thought it was time to bring in new blood.
The WWE Universe were aware that Naomi was forced to wait seven years for a title but they were unaware of how much Naomi was forced to push against WWE to get somewhere in the business.
She is constantly promoted as the most athletic female wrestler in the company, but it looks as though WWE don’t actually want to do anything with her. Hopefully, her time on the sidelines is brief and she manages to come back and claim the title she never lost in record time.
Clearly they were right to wait. Everyone isn’t Champion material.
