Neville came out for a non-tournament match up and cut a promo saying that he should be the United Kingdom champion by default and the crowd seemed to agree with him. However his opponent, Tommy End was there to disagree with him. After a good battle Neville hit his corkscrew shooting star press, the red arrow on End to drive his point home.

Michael Cole stated that there was breaking news that Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate will still compete in the finals as scheduled elthough Andrews was suffering from a “partially separated AC joint”.

The lights began to flash and Finn Balor’s music slowly started. As the crowd realized what was happening the electricity mounted and the very first WWE Universal Champion made his way to the ring wearing a suit and tie. Balor took the mic and cut an emotional promo about the importance of this event while the crowd showered him with respect and adoration. Finn pointed out that this entire tournament was because of the United Kingdom fans and they broke out in a “we deserve it” chant.

By the time the final match of the tournament began the crowd was more than ready for the conclusion of this history making event. Pete Dunne vs Tyler Bate capped off an amazing two day professional wrestling showcase which deservingly pointed out the incredible crop of professional wrestlers that the U.K. has to offer. Dunne made his way to the ring first with real heat surrounding him as Bate came down with a taped up shoulder in the midst of cheers for the young competitor.

Regal was really selling his anger with Dunne as he held the United Kingdom Championship in the middle of the ring before the match commenced. This match was especially interesting because Pete Dunne actually trained Tyler Bate at one point. Loud chants for William Regal broke out before the bell, but once the match started it got right down to business.

The two men circled each other for a bit and finally locked each other up and Pete pushed Tyler into the turnbuckle and slapped him clean across the face. Bate gained control for a moment with a wrist lock but Dunne got on his feet and pushed Tyler Bate down taking control once more.

Bate hit Dunne with a standing dropkick but Tyler gave his adversary the opportunity to get back onto his feet once more. Bate took Pete to the canvas with a single leg takedown and began wrenching at his ankle. Tyler Bate performed a cartwheel and the two men locked up, rolling each other out of the ring under the rope.

Dunne attempted to do more damage to Tyler’s injured shoulder and the two men began trading elbows on the outside. The two made it back in the ring and Bate through his opponent into the ring post through the middle rope. Tyler Bate hit a springboard uppercut off of the middle turnbuckle and executed an exploder suplex for a two count.

Dunne took back control for a moment and attempted a bitter end, but was blocked. Bate executed a one armed airplane spin on Pete Dunn, he was doing a really good job selling his shoulder injury even though he hulked up a bit during this move.

Pete Dunne caught Bate with a triangle chokehold and Tyler lifted Dunne off the mat with his injured shoulder and sent Dunne to the canvas to break the hold. Dunne rolls outside and Bate hit a fantastic aerial maneuver on Dunne. He rolled Dunne back inside and executed a top rope splash for a close two count. Dunne hit Bate with a bitter end and Tyler barely kicked out at two.

Dunne applied a shoulder submission move and wrenched it in while implementing body scissors to increase the force. Tyler countered with a brain buster for a very close near fall. Bate attempted a German suplex but Pete landed on his feet. The two traded slaps until Tyler hit Dunne with a head kick. Bate hit Dunne with a Tyler Driver to win the final match of the tournament.

Tyler Bate is the first ever WWE United Kingdom champion.
