This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw aired live from Knoxville, Tennessee, and there was a lot of speculation heading into the show regarding what’s next for Asuka. Following her loss to Iyo Sky at Backlash, it was reported that Asuka is scheduled to take some time off from WWE.
During Raw, Asuka approached Iyo Sky backstage and the two stars embraced. Asuka told Iyo Sky that she’s been waiting for someone to take over her position, and she’s so glad it’s her. She emphasized that she’s so proud of Iyo.
“I was looking for someone to take over my position. Finally you’ve become the person. I’m so glad it was you. I’m proud of you,” Asuka said.
Iyo Sky told Asuka that even though they fight, they will always be family. Iyo then said, ” Goodbye Asuka-san.” Asuka told her, “See you later.” After they finished hugging Asuka then left the arena with her luggage.
Michael Cole also stated on commentary that Asuka’s future is up in the air.
