The Monday Night Raw roster is loaded with talent and you never know when a former WWE superstar might return and get into the mix. Last month Big Cass made his big return to WWE, and it seemed that the company was looking to establish Cass as a dominant powerhouse. However, in recent weeks Big Cass has been pinned by Je’Von Evans, and he was defeated by Dragon Lee on this week’s episode of Raw.
During a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that WWE never would’ve let Dragon Lee defeat Big Cass if the company had plans for him. Meltzer also indicated that WWE has already given up on Big Cass as a singles act.
“It was by far the best thing Cass has done since he got there, as far as the match goes. Unfortunately the end result also tells you, they would never let Cass, if they had plans for him, lose to Dragon Lee. That is not in their MO at all, but he did. I think Cass may need Enzo, because they’ve given up on him as a single. A lot quicker than I thought they would.”
It was reported a few months ago that Enzo Amore was set to return to WWE, but so far the former Cruiserweight Champion has not returned to the company. One way or another it will be interesting to see where Cass goes from here, and if WWE attempts to move him to the tag team division, with or without Enzo.
