It’s been a rough day for the wrestling community as it was announced on Sunday that Benjamin Satterly, known to wrestling fans as PAC, had passed away at the age of 40. At the time the announcement was made little details were available regarding the circumstances of his death, but now some new information has come to light.
TMZ is now reporting that PAC was found slumped over inside a car parked outside of an Illinois restaurant shortly before he was pronounced dead. The Cook County Medical Examiner told TMZ that the cause and manner of death are pending additional testing which could take several weeks. It was also noted that an autopsy was performed today.
According to dispatch audio that was obtained by the California Post, PAC was found in a vehicle in the parking lot of CAVA in Des Plaines around 4 PM Sunday. First responders were told they had a “slumper” in the car, but could not confirm whether or not PAC was breathing.
A witness noted that customers spotted PAC passed out inside the car and called 911. Some people even searched the restaurant for medical equipment before paramedics made it to the scene. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that PAC was pronounced dead at 4:08 PM.
As noted, PAC stepped into the ring on Saturday night for what turned out to be his final match when he challenged Andrade El Idolo for the AEW National Championship at the All Out pay-per-view.
