We love Canadian cities, especially if they’re hosting pro wrestling shows and even more-so if they’re live on TV. No matter where pro wrestling goes in Canada, people seem to get it. When Kevin Owens ran in to save Sami Zayn at the house show in Montreal on Saturday night people lost their minds. On a side note, the Montreal WWE house show wasn’t sold out but an event across town for IWS (where Sami and Kevin started) had to turn people away at the door.

The point is that people in Canada love pro wrestling, in fact, they might love it a little too much. When Raw is in Toronto we know we’re in for a good time. Someone was bound to call it “Bizzaro World” and they did multiple times including during Bayley’s speech when she was booed out of the building. It was nothing compared to Roman Reigns after WrestleMania 33, but it was still a surprisingly strong negative reaction for The Hugger.

Bayley didn’t really know how to handle being targeted like that but there was something about this segment the crowd didn’t like and they let their opinions be known. It might have been the circumstances or just Bayley herself. Needless to say, Bayley didn’t seem to know what to do. She tried to continue but the crowd soon fell flat when she pressed on to show a sign of ultimate displeasure.

Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio that Vince McMahon was unhappy about this and told the announcers to call Toronto “Bizzaro World” because that’s what he calls it when people don’t do what they want him to. It was also said the people weren’t booing Bayley, but the way she was being booked.

But you’d never know by the crowd reaction when watching Bayley’s promo on WWE’s YouTube channel. The Hugger stood tall and spoke about her tragedy while promising to return and nobody booed at all. They even cut out Corey Graves calling Toronto “Bizzaro World” which is a title only reserved for noble and wrestling savage cities like Chicago, New York, London or any city that just hosted a Big 4 PPV on the previous night.

There are a couple jump cuts if you know what to look for that are pretty noticeable. But all in all, WWE put out a pretty sanitized and Vince McMahon approved segment for their YouTube channel. We can only assume it will remain edited for the WWE Network too which is a shame because Monday’s crowd in Toronto was amazing.

  1. Canadian wrestling fans continue to show we won’t be brainwashed by Vince to cheer and boo what he tells us to

  2. I don’t think people were booing this because they hate Bailey or the situation,
they boo’d the segment was taking too long and they wanted to see action, not a long talking segment that didn’t provide anything interesting
