LA Knight has become one of the more popular stars on the WWE roster over the last few years, but the Megastar has struggled to find himself in solid feuds recently. After WrestleMania 42, a feud between Knight and Gunther was teased on Raw, but there’s been no follow up on the tease in recent weeks.
Bodyslam is reporting that sources have indicated LA Knight was originally supposed to feud with Gunther in a short program. However, WWE pivoted and moved Gunther to SmackDown for a feud with Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
At this point in time it’s currently unknown what the creative direction will be for LA Knight, but he is still with the company. Over the weekend Knight was in Minnesota promoting SummerSlam and threw out a pitch at the Minnesota Twins game.
LA Knight last stepped into the ring during night 1 of WrestleMania 42 when he teamed with The Usos to defeat Logan Paul, Austin Theory and IShowSpeed in a six man tag team match. He did not appear on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw.
Last week on SmackDown, Gunther appeared out of nowhere and attacked Cody Rhodes then held up the Undisputed WWE Championship belt. The Ring General made it clear he wants a shot at the title, but it’s not clear at this point in time when a Cody vs. Gunther match will take place.
