When WWE signed their most recent deal with NBCUniversal it was announced that SmackDown would be heading to USA Network, and that Saturday Night’s Main Event would return as a quarterly special on NBC.

Saturday Night’s Main Event officially returned last month, and another quarterly special aired live from San Antonio, Texas over the weekend. The show featured some big matches and it sounds like the response to the event has been positive.

Cory Hays of PW Nexus is reporting that WWE is extremely pleased with how things played out on Saturday Night’s Main Event over the weekend. The show is said to be making waves and the word is that NBCUniversal/Peacock are “excited’ about the show.

Saturday Night’s Main Event featured some big title matches as Rhea Ripley successfully defended the WWE Women’s World Championship against Nia Jax and Bron Breakker managed to retain the Intercontinental Championship when he defeated Sheamus. Gunther also picked up a win over Jey Uso in the main event. Jey Uso’s match with Gunther was a hot topic on social media following the show, and you can find out what a former AEW star had to say about the match here.
