The last few days have been eventful to say the least as The Rock & Roman Reigns defeated Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins in the night one main event of WrestleMania 40, and Cody Rhodes went on to win the Undisputed WWE Championship when he defeated Roman Reigns in the main event of night two.

Cody Rhodes made his way out for a big celebration on Monday Night Raw this week and after he had his moment he was interrupted by The Rock. The Final Boss asked Cody if he could hold his belt. Cody obliged and when The Rock put the Undisputed WWE Championship on his shoulder he told Cody that it “felt right.”

The Rock gave the belt back to Cody then said that The American Nightmare’s story with Roman Reigns is over, but his story with The Rock is just beginning. The Final Boss announced that he’ll be going away for a while then said that when he comes back he’ll be coming for Cody regardless of whether Cody is the champion or not.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the current plan right now is to do The Rock vs. Cody Rhodes in a singles match at WrestleMania 41 next year. It was also noted that it’s not 100 percent that Cody Rhodes will still be champion by the time the match takes place.

Obviously a lot can change before next year, but WWE has clearly planted the seeds for a Rock vs. Cody singles match, so we’ll have to wait and see how things play out on the road to WrestleMania 41.

As of this writing WWE has yet to confirm a date or location for WrestleMania 41. It’s been rumored for weeks now that Minneapolis, MN is the frontrunner to host the big event, but so far no official announcements have been made.

Stay tuned for updates.
