NXT has come a long way over the last few years as it’s gone from the WWE Network to the USA Network and now airs live most weeks on Tuesday nights. Recently fans have seen an influx of main roster stars in NXT as Baron Corbin and Mustafa Ali recently made their presence felt.

Main roster stars appearing on NXT has become a lot more common over the last year as names like AJ Styles, Dolph Ziggler, The New Day and more have all worked matches in NXT.

This week Bron Breakker challenged Seth Rollins to a match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and Breakker made it clear that he wants Rollins to defend the belt in NXT. Dave Meltzer recently explained on Wrestling Observer Radio that this is Nick Khan’s strategy and main roster stars are being brought to NXT to try and boost the ratings so WWE can get a better price from USA Network when it’s time to renew TV rights.

“The deal is, this is a Nick Khan thing, bring more main roster stars to NXT every week, boost the ratings, and try to boost your price for a renewal from USA Network because the ratings are higher. So that’s the strategy they’re going with and that’s why you’re gonna be seeing more main roster stars.”

At this point in time WWE has yet to confirm when the potential Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship could take place. Stay tuned for updates.
