We’re getting deeper into WrestleMania season and it’s safe to say that WWE storylines will be picking up in a major way in the weeks to come. It looks like WWE has added another name to the creative team as it was recently reported that Road Dogg is now one of the co-lead writers for Friday Night SmackDown.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports they were told that because there’s so much going on at the moment one lead writer for SmackDown wasn’t enough. Road Dogg and John Swikata will be the co-lead writers on SmackDown moving forward.
Swikata had replaced Ryan Callahan as the head writer back in June. Road Dogg was previously one of the lead writers for SmackDown from 2016 to 2019 alongside Stephen Guerrieri. The Hall of Famer was released from WWE in 2022 and later brought back after Vince McMahon retired.
The Monday Night Raw brand currently has Ryan Ward and Jon Baeckstrom. Ed Koskey is overseeing and editing the scripts, and Bruce Prichard is said to be the buffer between them and Paul Levesque.
