This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown is set to take place from the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, and it’s shaping up to be a huge show as The Rock has confirmed he will be making an appearance.
PWInsider is also that The Rock’s involvement with SmackDown was literally something that was added on Thursday night, and internally the company shifted plans to set up his appearance. The Rock’s segment was not planned far in advance at all.
Ahead of the appearance The Rock announced that he’ll be giving a “big beautiful gift” to the city of New Orleans, and it’s expected that he’ll be confirming New Orleans as the location for WrestleMania 42 in 2026. It was noted that there may be more to his appearance, but the New Orleans announcement is 100% confirmed. WWE is also planning a post-show press conference after SmackDown and the assumption is that The Rock will be involved.
The Rock’s future commitments in the weeks to come are unknown, but he has previously stated that he needs nine weeks of training to get in shape for a WrestleMania match, and WrestleMania 41 is currently nine weeks away.
While The Rock hasn’t given any indication that he’ll be competing at WrestleMania during his recent WWE appearances, he did note on Instagram that tonight he will be looking to “f*** up a certain someone’s life with the Final Boss gospel.”
All eyes will be on The Rock tonight when he appears on SmackDown as the wrestling world is waiting to see what the future holds for The Final Boss. Stay tuned for updates.
