There are a number of wrestlers on the AEW roster who have been with the company since the beginning, and Chris Jericho happens to be one of them. Jericho has been a fixture on AEW programming for years now, but he’s been absent from television in recent months.
Fightful Select reports that Chris Jericho is not on TV right now because he felt like it was a good time for him to take some time off. Fozzy was on tour, and while most the dates were scheduled around AEW Dynamite, it made the most sense for Jericho to take time away.
The belief is that Chris Jericho still has six months left on his current deal with All Elite Wrestling. There’s currently no word on whether or not time can be tacked onto the deal due to absence.
Chris Jericho last wrestled at the AEW Dynasty pay-per-view on April 6 when he dropped the Ring of Honor World Championship to Bandido. Prior to his absence Jericho had been using the Learning Tree gimmick on AEW programming alongside Big Bill and Bryan Keith. At this point in time it’s not clear when Jericho could be making his AEW return.
