Enzo Amore is not a very well liked guy backstage and that seems to have bled into WWE’s on-screen storyline. He was rejected from the locker room and has caused more than a few problems due to his braggadocious behavior.
The fact that he spends money like it’s going out of style and brags about how large his royalty checks are doesn’t help either. He’s quickly becoming the biggest heel in the WWE and it’s not for lack of trying to get him over as a babyface.
But when Enzo won the Cruiserweight Championship from Neville at No Mercy he did so in a very heel-like fashion. A low blow might do the trick but it’s not something a babyface really does to win a match. The next night on Raw, Enzo got a very rude awakening when the entire 205 Live roster banded together in order to put a stop to his antics.
Dave Meltzer was asked about what is next for Enzo Amore on Wrestling Observer Radio and it turns out there are a few options open for The Realest Guy In The Room at this point. But all roads seem to lead back to Neville.
Meltzer started off by saying Neville will be getting a shot soon enough, “they’ll figure out a way out of it.” After all, with Enzo’s no-contact clause if anybody touched Enzo they would forfeit a chance at any future chances at the Cruiserweight Title.
“Well, it leads to Enzo against Neville.” Meltzer continued, “This is probably a way to delay it a couple of months and maybe [Enzo] will work with Rich Swann first because that was one of the guys he insulted. Or maybe someone else, maybe Cedric [Alexander] — he did insult Cedric as well. And it’s a way to keep Neville from getting a shot for a while so when he gets it, it’s a bigger deal.”
But in the end, it could boil down to WWE’s short-term memory loss.
“I think maybe [Neville] gets a shot next week and they just forget it.”
