The SummerSlam premium live event aired from Nashville on Saturday and Bianca Belair successfully defended her Raw Women’s Championship against Becky Lynch.
After the match Becky Lynch showed respect to Bianca Belair with a handshake and then Bayley made her surprise return, but she didn’t return alone. The former SmackDown Women’s Champion appeared alongside Io Shirai and Dakota Kai.
Fightful Select reports that Dakota Kai was a talent that several people thought Triple H would bring back. There were said to be multiple companies interested in her, but talks with AEW never picked up. There were several people in AEW pushing for her to join the company. It’s not clear why that didn’t happen.
It’s also being reported that the new stable was actually pitched a while ago before Dakota Kai was released. However, Vince McMahon rejected it. There were also other versions of the stable pitched which included Raquel Rodriguez and Kay Lee Ray.
