CM Punk and Colt Cabana have been wrapped up in legal battle with WWE doctor Chris Amann for quite some time, and now Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that the libel trial has been delayed.
The report notes that sources familiar with the case are claiming that the trial was originally set for Tuesday, May 22nd, but it was delayed on Monday because both sides are discussing a possible settlement.
Court records also show that Colt Cabana submitted six pieces of evidence last week which are presumably audio samples from the infamous CM Punk podcast where he discussed Dr. Chris Amann.
Chris Amann is seeking $1 million in damages following the comments Punk made about him on Colt Cabana’s podcast back in 2014.
Following his departure from WWE, Punk decided to make the move to MMA and he’s set to face Mike Jackson in his second UFC fight at UFC 225 in Chicago on June 9th.
Punk has given no indication that he has any plans to return to professional wrestling, but for what it’s worth it was recently reported that he was backstage at the All In press conference last week.
