The New Day made history last year when they became the longest reigning Tag Team Champions in the history of WWE. Their fortunes in 2017 have been very different though, after not even competing at WrestleMania, the trio then lost their final match on Monday Night Raw to the debuting Revival and haven’t been seen since.
It has been revealed that the reason that The New Day have yet to make their SmackDown Live debut is because Kofi Kingston is suffering from an injury and Xavier Woods has to keep up with the demand of his Youtube channel, UpUpDownDown.
Xavier’s wife is also due to give birth to their first child in the very near future as well, so it will be interesting to see how WWE handles the situation. It is now being reported by CagesideSeats that the trio are expected to be on SmackDown Live by the beginning of June, which means that they could debut in the fallout of Backlash.
The SmackDown tag team division is quite competitive right now and shockingly it is Breezango who are challenging The Usos for the SmackDOwn Tag Team Championships next Sunday night. The New Day should easily fit in with their new surroundings, as soon as Kofi’s is deemed ready for their re-debut.
