Ever since WrestleMania season last year there’s been a lot of speculation regarding The Rock’s status for WrestleMania 41. Ahead of the Show of Shows, The Rock has become a key figure on the road to WrestleMania 41 as John Cena aligned himself with The Final Boss after he won the Elimination Chamber match and attacked Cody Rhodes.
Even though The Rock seems to be set for a major role during WrestleMania season there don’t seem to be any plans for him to wrestle in the near future. PWInsider is reporting that the latest word is The Rock will be aligned with John Cena, but won’t be wrestling a match at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.
The Rock recently discussed his feud with Cody Rhodes following his return to SmackDown, and he indicated during the post-show press conference that he’s not looking to step into the ring with The American Nightmare.
“To me, it just becomes something that’s unpredictable. In the world of pro wrestling, everything will culminate in a match. What I love about this character of the Final Boss and Cody Rhodes, it’s not about the WWE title, it never has to culminate with a match.”
At this point it’s not clear when The Rock will be making his next appearance on WWE programming, but Cody Rhodes will be addressing John Cena’s big heel turn this week on SmackDown.
Stay tuned for updates.
