Bryan Danielson appeared on AEW Dynamite earlier this week and he announced that he is not medically cleared to compete. He also announced that a mystery wrestler will be replacing him at Forbidden Door and Blood & Guts.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that although nothing was said publicly it’s believed Bryan Danielson suffered a concussion during the Anarchy in the Arena match at Double or Nothing. The injury is being kept quiet in the same manner that WWE generally tries to keep concussions and COVID tests a secret.

It was noted that Bryan Danielson was expected to be part of Forbidden Door, but concussions are unpredictable. It was also noted that Bryan not passing concussion protocol a month out would be seen as a bad sign. Bryan did not reveal any specifics regarding his injury during Dynamite, but instead pushed the idea that he’s doing well, and was able to run two miles without breaking a sweat.

At this point it’s not known who will be replacing Bryan as AEW is likely holding off on the reveal to build curiosity for the pay-per-view. Fans on social media have been speculating that it could be Johnny Gargano or Cesaro, but Gargano recently brushed off rumors that he could be appearing in AEW soon. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
