Brock Lesnar and UFC fighter Jon “Bones” Jones have been building towards a UFC showdown for a number of weeks now, but the fact that Lesnar can’t fight in the octagon until next year was once the only problem with the match up.
Now it seems that fans may not be seeing a fight in the octagon between these two grapplers for a number of years. It was reported by TMZ earlier this week that Jon Jones had failed a UFC drug test after testing positive for steroids alongside a number of other things, meaning that he could be handed a four year ban from the sport.
This isn’t the first time Jones has failed a USADA drug test, and was banned for a year back in 2016 and was taken out of the main event of UFC 200 after it emerged that he had failed the test.
It seems that the match between Jon Jones and Lesnar in UFC is now completely out of the question, given that Jones UFC career is all but over, but there is one place that the match could still happen.
Given the star power that Jones currently has, it would make sense if Vince McMahon did ask the question of whether or not he could make the match happen at a WrestleMania event instead.
Sure, this isn’t the way Jones saw his career going when he challenged Brock to a match a few weeks ago, but if his MMA career is now fading, then it would be a fantastic option for him to make the switch and give the fans the match that was promised.
