It’s been a bad week for Impact Wrestling. The company lost The Broken Hardys and Drew Galloway, and WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross predicted that more stars would be parting ways with the company. It turns out Jim Ross was right.
PWInsider is reporting that Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis have both parted ways with the company.
According to the report, their contracts expired in late 2016, and they worked on per appearance deals at the last set of TV tapings. TNA attempted to sign the pair to new deals and they reportedly agreed to terms, but later informed the company that they would not be re-signing.
Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis made their debut with TNA in January of 2016 and they were featured as top stars throughout the year. During his run with the company Mike Bennett feuded with several of Impact Wrestling’s top names and he even managed to win the X-Division Championship.
Maria also made an impact (no pun intended) as she was the main villain in the Knockouts division for quite some time. During her time as head of the division she ended up winning the TNA Knockouts Championship, which she lost to Gail Kim at Bound For Glory in 2016.
TNA will be taping several episodes of Impact this week, and from the looks of things the roster is going to be very different going forward.
Here we go again.
