WWE seems to be in recruitment mode as the company has signed a number of exciting names over the last few months. Now it seems that another formidable wrestler could be WWE bound.
Fightful Select is reporting that multiple sources have confirmed WWE has had their eye on Jeff Cobb. Cobb has been competing inside the ring for New Japan Pro Wrestling, but he recently made some comments indicating that he could be looking to go elsewhere.
“So where does that leave Jeff Cobb? It seems I can’t win when all the marbles are down. G1, New Japan Cup. Long gone are the days when I went 8-0 in the G1. Now I can’t even break .500. Where does that leave Jeff Cobb? Maybe it’s time to take my bags and go somewhere else. I don’t know. I don’t know,” Cobb said.
According to the report one source indicated that Jeff Cobb showed up on WWE’s internal roster this week, but that hasn’t been confirmed. Sources in AEW noted that Cobb is not expected to sign with All Elite Wrestling.
Cory Hays of PW Nexus also noted that Triple H is a big fan of Jeff Cobb, and that people in the company have had their eyes on Cobb for quite a few years now.
