All Elite Wrestling officially launched three years ago and The Young Bucks have been one of the key teams on the roster since day one. It was recently reported that AEW is looking to sign The Bucks to a new deal, but it doesn’t sound like talks have gotten very far at this point in time.

Dave Meltzer addressed Matt and Nick Jackson’s AEW status on Wrestling Observer Radio and he noted that AEW has contacted The Young Bucks to start negotiations, but the two sides are not close to a new deal at this point in time.

“Their contract is up at the end of the year, and AEW does want to lock them in. AEW contacted them and wants to start the negotiations. But there have been no negotiations as of today. And they’re certainly not close to a deal. Right now that’s where it’s at.”

“It’s similar to when we talked about a couple of months ago with Jericho – Jericho had time left, but they signed him to a new deal. They have not started negotiations yet, but AEW has contacted them saying that they want to sign them to a new deal, a multi-year deal, so that’s where the Young Bucks story’s at right now.”

Do you think The Young Bucks should sign a new deal with AEW? Sound off in the comments below.
