WWE has a loaded house for the Biggest Party Of The Summer. Actually, they could still sell more tickets as Dave Meltzer noted there are still plenty available for SummerSlam starting at over $500. But the card is certainly going to be a packed one.
The Miz is awesome. It’s kind of his thing at this point. He’s had an amazing run with WWE’s white belt and he’s managed to not only elevate himself but the title through his fantastic work. But aside from Dean Ambrose, The Miz hasn’t had much of a challenge during this run.
The seven-time IC Champ was set to do battle with Kurt Angle’s baby boy Jason Jordan at SummerSlam and put his title on the line in the process. They set up this feud in a sense on Miz TV during Raw but recent reports are their planned match at SummerSlam has hit the cutting room floor.
According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, these plans have been halted because Jason Jordan isn’t getting over in the way they would have wanted him to. In essence, this whole Kurt Angle baby-daddy reveal has been kind of a flop and even diehard fans aren’t accepting it in an ironic sense. Therefore as of this week, Meltzer noted the plans for this match have been scrapped.
It might be for the best because SummerSlam already has twelve matches booked so far and a couple of them might be longer contests. In case you were wondering what those matches are, then take a gander below, but beware of possible spoilers.
Mike Kanellis vs Sami Zayn and Big Show vs Big Cass were also rumored but seem to have been cut as well. A Breezango follow-up match might have also been trimmed for time as well. But it still looks like SummerSlam is going to be a good show on paper.
