Bayley faces Alexa Bliss in less than three weeks at “The Biggest Party of the Summer” as she hopes to reclaim her Raw Women’s Championship. In the buildup to this match Bayley faced off against Alexa’s friend Nia Jax on Monday Night Raw and it seems that Bayley could have lasting memories of the match.

Bayley took a nasty fall from a slam that looked as though she landed on her shoulder before Nia then picked her up into a chicken wing which only further pulled at the injured muscle. It was then rumoured that Bayley may have separated her shoulder because Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer both speculated on the Wrestling Observer Radio that this was the extent of the damage, based on the way Bayley was holding her shoulder after the match.

WWE.com reported that that doctors can’t confirm the full extent of the damage at this time because the swelling around Bayley’s shoulder is preventing access to it, but she has been told to rest for the next week until she can be given an actual diagnosis.

“Everything just tensed up around it,” Bayley revealed. “I’ve never had an injury like this before, so I can’t really know what it is. I guess we’re gonna see.”

WWE Doctor Chris Amann also confirmed the injury as reported on WWE’s official website: “We’ve determined the injury is shoulder-related, and she will be going under further diagnostic testing later this week to determine the extent of the injury and also establish a timetable for recovery.”

If Bayley has separated her shoulder then she could be out of action for up to six weeks which means that her match against Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam would have to be rescheduled and Sasha Banks would perhaps be called in to take her place. More information will be known about the injury when the WWE doctors can properly assess it.
