WrestleMania is heading to Hollywood next year as the show is set to take place from SoFi Stadium and anticipation for the event has been building for some time. It’s expected that WWE will be looking to put on the biggest show possible with some of the most recognizable names in the industry.

It’s been rumored for years now that WWE is hoping to book The Rock vs. Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39, but Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that The Rock is not a sure thing for Mania at this point. It was noted that the number one thing The Rock will be dealing with in 2023 is launching the XFL as he is he co-owner of the league and will be the face of the brand, so that’s expected to take up a lot of his time.

“As far as what he’s gonna do, I don’t think there’s any guarantee one way or the other right now. So you’re talking about that like it’s solid, no, it’s not a guarantee, because there’s too many things going on, and he may get a project.”

WWE recently announced that John Cena will be returning to the ring for the last SmackDown of 2022 when he teams with Kevin Owens to take on Sami Zayn and Roman Reigns. Cena is also not a sure thing for WrestleMania, and if he does end up signing on for the event he likely won’t be able to make many appearances leading up to the show due to his movie schedule.

“Cena’s not 100% either by the way, but he’s got a movie in February and March so he’s not gonna be able to do a lot of TVs. He will do the show if he’s available, but it’s the same thing. He may have other things going on. I was told… I guess the best way to put it is Cena is a ‘probable’, and Dwayne is a ‘possible.’”

It’s also been reported that WWE has made Steve Austin an offer for another WrestleMania match, so it will be interesting to see how the card comes together. It’s believed that WWE is looking to finalize plans for the main event in January. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
