This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown focused on the fallout from the WrestleMania 40 press conference on Thursday and a big announcement was made. It was revealed that an Elimination Chamber match will be held to determine who will challenge Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania, and both Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton won their respective qualifying matches.

Friday’s episode of SmackDown went off the air with Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre staring one another down in the middle of the ring, but the action continued after the show came to an end.

Gunther defended his Intercontinental Championship against Cameron Grimes in a dark match and R-Truth attacked Gunther once the match was over. Truth stormed the ring then sent Gunther packing after hitting the Five Knuckle Shuffle much to the delight of the fans.

R-Truth has become one of the most popular characters on Raw since returning to TV in November and has been involved in a storyline with The Judgment Day since then. There’s currently no word on whether or not WWE has any plans for a Gunther vs. R-Truth feud, or if this was simply done to make the live crowd happy.
