Professional wrestling is an interesting form of entertainment. There are quite a few wrestlers out there who are great talkers, others are great athletes, and those that are lucky are great at both.

However, sometimes it doesn’t matter how great you are on the mic, or in the ring, because if the fans don’t get invested in a wrestler then the lack of reaction can have a negative impact on their position on the card.

When fans respect a wrestler’s work, they’ll let them know by making noise. However, many fans have argued over the years that WWE refuses to listen to the fans sometimes, but Stephanie McMahon disagrees.

Stephanie McMahon recently spoke at Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit in Washington, D.C., and she said that it’s the fans who decide which wrestlers make it to the next level or not.

“We’re taking feedback in real time.” McMahon added that in WWE NXT, “our audience is actually determining who makes it to the next level—and they know it,” adds McMahon.

“Our audience tells us what they love, what they don’t like, and—worst—what they don’t care about,” she said.
