At SummerSlam earlier this month Roman Reigns successfully defended his World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins in the night two main event. The next night on Raw, Rey Mysterio approached Roman Reigns and asked if he could run something by The Tribal Chief.
Rey Mysterio later announced that the top luchadores from Raw, SmackDown and AAA would compete in a tournament to determine who will challenge Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship at Raw in Mexico City on September 14.
The tournament has been playing out over the last few weeks and the finals came down to Rey Fenix and Penta. The finals took place during this week’s Raw tapings in Cleveland, Ohio on Friday night, and Penta defeated Rey Fenix to earn a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship.

It’s been some time since fans have seen Roman Reigns wrestle on Monday Night Raw, but The Tribal Chief recently hyped up the title defense when he posted the following on social media:
