After weeks of anticipation the annual WWE Backlash premium live event is set to emanate from Tampa, Florida tonight. Roman Reigns will be defending his World Heavyweight Championship against Jacob Fatu in the main event, and John Cena is set to make a major announcement during the show.
Cory Hays is reporting that John Cena’s history making announcement is currently scheduled to take place before the main event tonight at WWE Backlash. John Cena has teased that his announcement is going to, “shock the very foundation of WWE, from its fans to its superstars, from its champions down to its rookies.”
At this point it’s not clear what the announcement could be, but fans have been speculating all week long. Ahead of the show it’s been reported that the expectation internally is that the announcement will be tied to Club WWE.
WWE Backlash is set to air live from the Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida tonight and the full card for the show can be seen below.
